Community FundraisingWhat is Community Fundraising?Community Fundraising allows Northcott Disability Services to countinue to support children and adults with a disability. By fundraising on our behalf, you are assisting us to raise vital funds that will enable our clients to have access to the best in client care and support Around 10 per cent of the world’s population, or 650 million people, live with a disability, which means that people with a disability are the world’s largest minority. 20% of the Australian population has some form of disability (2001 census). 14.2% of population has a physical or diverse disability in Australia 1998 (Australia’s Health 2004, AIHW) or 3,022,543 people. Of these, 2.8 million (78%) had a core activity restriction — in self-care, mobility or communication — caused by their disability. Fundraising in your community whether it be with your social club, school, workplace or with your friends is fun and rewarding. All donations raised in your community will make a difference to our clients. Northcott are indebted to our "Northcott Supporters" within community, social and corporate groups who choose us to be a beneficiary of their fundraising event or activity.
